GEOPRO Project to be Highlighted at Geothermal Webinar

Wed, 04 May, 2022

Representatives of the EU-funded GEOPRO and REFLECT projects will be discussing their findings during a free-to-attend webinar, 'Predictive Modelling for Geothermal' on 11 May 2022.

The webinar, which takes place from 15:00 – 16:15 CEST (Brussels time), will present research from both projects related to predictive modelling for geothermal and how it will improve the efficiency of geothermal operations.

Hosted by REFLECT project manager Katrin Kieling (Helmholtz Centre Potsdam – German Research Centre for Geosciences, GFZ), the event programme includes:

  • Short introduction of the REFLECT project – by Simona Regenspurg (GFZ)
  • Reactive transport modelling with a coupled OpenFOAM®-PHREEQC platform: application to chemical reactivity in geothermal wells – by REFLECT partner Laurent André (French Geological Survey)
  • Impact of geochemical uncertainties on scaling precipitation in geothermal assets – by REFLECT partner Pejman Shoeibi Omrani (Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research, TNO)
  • Geothermal flow assurance simulator – by GEOPRO partner Per Kjellgren (FlowPhys)
