The GEOPRO Project was highlighted as part of a keynote speech delivered at TWI’s 4th Innovation Partner Matching and Brokerage Workshop on 12 January 2022.
The event, which focused on ‘Sustainability, circular and low emission value chain, digitalised production and digital tools for circular economy,’ included presentations from representatives of TWI, the TWI Innovation Network, Proctor and Gamble, and the Zorlu Enerji Group.
The Zorlu Enerji Group’s R&D manager, Ural Halaçoğlu, gave a keynote presentation called, ‘Next Generation of Energy Above the Horizon,’ delivering information on the history and foundations of the company as well as their growth from their orgins as a textiles company to becoming a multi-disciplinary company covering areas including electronics and energy.
Ural spoke on Zorlu’s work with Horizon2020-funded projects related to renewable energy, including the collaborative GEOPRO project. Ural also detailed other work related to geothermal energy, including the GeoSmart Project. Both of these projects relate to the exploitation of geothermal energy as part of the future renewable energy mix and we would like to thank Ural for helping to spread the word on this important and ground-breaking work.
