GEOPRO Project Shown at Geothermal Clustering Workshop

Tue, 01 November, 2022

Findings and information from the GEOPRO project were shown at The European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA), Geothermal Clustering Event.

CINEA, which was created to assist with implementing parts of certain EU programmes, has been playing a vital role in supporting the EU Green Deal.

The workshop was created as a side event during the European Geothermal Congress 2022 (EGC2022) in Berlin, and invited project representatives from various H2020 and Horizon Europe initiatives supporting the exploitation and sustainability of geothermal energy.

These representatives were able to share their challenges and learning from research projects, including GEOPRO.

Representatives from TWI, Dr. Jon Blackburn, Damien Kirkpatrick and Dr. Namrata Kale, presented updates on GEOPRO and other TWI led collaborative projects, GEOHEX, Geo-Drill, and GeoSmart.

The four projects are aimed at providing innovative solutions to spectrum of challenges in geothermal in collaboration with organizations across UK and Europe.

The event also included presentations from other geothermal energy projects including CRM-geothermal, CROWDTHERMAL, EASYGO-ITN, GECO, GEO4CIVHIC, GEOTHERM-FOR A, OPTIDRILL, GEOTHERMICA, ORCHYD and REFLECT.
